YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 15, NOYAN TAPAN. Georgios Vasilakos (Greece), the Chairman of the Basketball European Federation, and Executive Director Kosta Ileyev (Bulgaria) arrived in Yerevan on November 14 on a two-day visit, at the invitation of the Basketball Federation of Armenia. The honorary quests first visited the Tsitsernakaberd Genocide Memorial Complex, then took part in the press conference. Gagik Tsarukian, the Chairman of the National Olympic Committee of Armenia, and Secretary General Armen Grigorian received them. The goal of the visit is to get acquainted with the state of this type of sport in Armenia, with the state of gyms to assist and develop basketball in future. And the team of Armenia will participate in 2007 in the 2nd division tournament of the world championship.
