YEREVAN, MAY 30, NOYAN TAPAN. Like in the whole world, in Armenia also a growth of cases of neurosis is noticed in the recent years. As Suren Zohrabian, Academician, neuro-surgeon, neuro-pathologist, said in his interview to Noyan Tapan correspondent, the primary reason of growth of cases of neurosis is the patient's quick-tempered neurological state, and such factors as the environment, bad socio-economic conditions contribute to the emergence of this disease. That is why, according to him, neurosis is considered to be a social disease. Though there are no official statistical data about this disease, S.Zohrabian said that it is more spread among women and mainly 20-40-year-old people suffer from this disease. According to him, unfortunately, no culture of periodically going to doctor has been formed among Armenians and very often people even do not know that they suffer from neurosis. While, neurosis can be a reason for emergence of a number of diseases. S.Zohrabian said that it is necessary to open a center for neurology and neuro-surgery in Armenia, which will coordinate the works done in this direction and will contribute to prevention of growth of cases of this disease. As S.Zohrabian estimated, vascular neuro-surgery is not well developed in Armenia: it is only necessary to buy modern equipments of diagnostics and treatment for development of this sphere.
