YEREVAN, OCTOBER 1, NOYAN TAPAN. With the aim of
identifying the problems (in particular, those related to
vulnerable groups and employment of disabled persons in Gyumri)
in the Armenian labor market, Ameria CJSC has conduced a study
of the labor market. 1,200 representtaives of 7 vulnerable
groups, 520 organizations and 25 experts were surveyed in
Yerevan and marzes (regions). At the September 28 event on the
study results, the Armenian minister of labor and social issues
Aghvan Vardanian said that the study will help make assistance
to such groups most targeted and efficient.
According to experts, the labor market with structural and
volume discrepancies between demand and supply in it is still in
the phase of establishment. In their opinion, the educational
and employment policies are nor integrated in the country which
has caused these discrepancies. Despite the existence of shadow
employment, the current development rates of the labor market
are promisisng, and the demand and supply of labor force will
become more balanced in the next 3 years. In order to solve the
problems of the labor market, it is proposed that professional
orientation "career" centers be set up for those who seek a job
for the first time, an educational system in line with the labor
market requirements be formed, and a database on supply and
demand in the labor market be created and improved.
