PROCESS OF FULFILMENT OF PROPOSALS MADE TO ARMENIA BY GRECO
AND MONEVAL PRESENTED TO CE OFFICIALS

YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 13, NOYAN TAPAN. On February 12, RA
Prosecutor General Aghvan Hovsepian received Special
Representative of Secretary General of Council of Europe to
Armenia, Bojana Urumova and Council of Europe expert for
anti-corruption affairs Mariana Trivunovic. As Noyan Tapan
correspondent was informed by RA Prosecutor General's
Spokesperson, during the meeting the sides discussed the process
of fulfilment of proposals made by GRECO and MONEVAL.
A. Hovsepian presented the activities done by the
Prosecutor's Office in this direction saying that the new list
of corruption crimes was approved by bringing it to
correspondence with the international standards, the bill on
calling juridical persons for criminal liability was worked out
and submitted to the government. For the purpose of ensuring
closer cooperation in fighting counterfeiting, money laundry,
falsifications in the sphere of plastic cards and other payment
instruments in Armenia, an agreement was signed between RA
Prosecutor General's Office and Central Bank of Armenia (CBA).
RA Prosecutor General said that they also work in the
direction of excluding corruption phenomena in the sphere of
Prosecutor's Office: they dismiss unconscientious employees and
replenish Prosecutor's Office with young clever persons. Saying
that 102 employees of Prosecutor's Office were dismissed from
the sphere over the past years, A. Hovsepian said that the order
of employing people has also changed: an attestation commission
has been created and a person can be presented for appointment
only in case of receiving positive conclusion by the commission.
