OPEN CONTEST OF YOUNG PROGRAMMERS TO BE HELD IN ARMENIA

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 5, NOYAN TAPAN. An open programming
contest will be held in Yerevan and in the marzes of Shirak,
Lori and Syunik, from September 15 to October 5. The Enterprise
Incubator Foundation, PanArmenian Youth International Center, UN
Development Programme office and Competitive Armenian Private
Sector office initiated the contest. According to the
organizers, the main goal of the contest is to find the best
young specialists at the age of 18-30, knowing C++ and Java
programming languages.
The contest will be held at 3 stages: electoral, individual
and team. During the electoral stage, the participants must
solve the given 5 tasks during 3 hours. The choice will be made
at the individual stage by the principal of floating quota,
after what 30 young people recognized the winners at that stage
will participate in programming courses in Tsaghkadzor. They
will be divided into 10 teams at the team stage to be held in
Yerevan. The winning team will get monetary prize of 2 mln drams
(about 5000 U.S. dollars).
The contest sponsors are the Synopsys, Virage Logic and
Antares companies.
