YEREVAN, MAY 19, NOYAN TAPAN. The solemn ceremony of opening of the computer hall of the Library Science Department of the Yerevan State Pedagogical University took place on May 18 with the assistance of Ambassador of U.S. to Armenia John Evans. Foundation of the computer hall became possible due to donation of six computers by the U.S. Embassy which involves a corresponding library automatization program package. And the Pedagogical University allocated a fundamentally restored territory for the computer hall. The U.S. Embassy Information Resources Center cooperates with the Library Department of the Yerevan State Pedagogical University since 2000. Within the framework of the cooperation, every year American specialists delivered lectures at the university concerning modern developments of the library science. An American library specialist cooperated in 2005 with the library department to work out a new and modern teaching curriculum. According to the information submitted to Noyan Tapan by the U.S. Embassy, the collection of the Information Resources Center is open for students and all researchers who want to know more about the United States.
