OPEN JUNIOR TOURNAMENT ORGANIZED BY "CHESS" ACADEMY

YEREVAN, January 19 (Noyan Tapan). The open tournament of boys and girls initiated and held by the "Chess" Academy completed. It was dedicated to the 95th anniversary of prominent chess player Henrik Kasparian, the first international grand master of the chess composition. The tournaments were quite representative: 245 chess players of different age groups from the Armenian towns and regions participated in them. Ara Diloyan and Arpi Azizbekian (the group of chess players aged below 10), Ruben Gatrchian and Syuzan Shakarian (12-year-old), David Grigorian (14), Vardges Tovmasian and Lusine Karapetian (16), Zaven Andreasian and Armine Babayan (18) became the winners of the tournament held by the Swiss system with nine rounds. The winners received the right to participate in the winter educational and sport camp of the "Chess" Academy to be held in Arzni. Participants of all the age groups received monetary prizes.
