YEREVAN CHESS CHAMPIONSHIP STARTS

YEREVAN, May 11 (Noyan Tapan). The tournament of the first team of the 64th Male Chess Championship started at the Central House of Chess-Players after Tigran Petrosian. At the same time it has a status of the Yerevan open championship. So, 43 chess-players competed for the title of the Yerevan champion. Representatives of different towns and regions of Armenia, Artsakh and Iran participated in the tournament (Hamlet Tumanian, the strongest Armenian chess-player of Iran represents this country). The tournament of the first team is held on the Swiss system in nine Days and will complete on May 13. After two days seven participants earned two points each, and another seven participants earned 1.5 points each.
