VivaCell-MTS undertakes the general sponsorship of the Robots’ Day event
Union of Information Technology Enterprises and Armenia’s leading telecommunications operator continue to encourage young people, who manifest interest and talent in a perspective sphere such as the robotics. The competition in robots was yet another event hosted at the State Engineering University of Armenia.
On exhibition during the event were models with a wide range of functionalities. The robotics group from the Ayb School, the winner of a special prize at the robotics contest in the US, showed fire-fighter, line-tracker and mine-sweeper robots, as well as a power electronics scheme for distant control of milling machines.
Students of the Basic College of the State Engineering University presented a cake-cutter robot, bridge-passing as well as mouse-hunting robots. The Nairi Educational Consortium presented a 3D printer and a turning machine, while the Symotec Company demonstrated a set of educational robots, which will be provided to 50 communities of Armenia within a pilot program of creating robotics groups in the country.
To promote robotics and to create new enterprises in Armenia, this year it is planned to organize the Robots in Everyday Life contest of ideas in the frame of the Armrobotics. Those who wish to participate will need to register and submit their ideas as engineering projects to the juries of the contest. The authors of the best projects in the future will have an opportunity to produce the robots they suggest.
The Armrobotics is organized by the Union of Information Technology Enterprises. The general sponsor of the contest is VivaCell-MTS, and the technical sponsor is the Artin Varuzhan Company. The partners of the school group projects are Cronimet Charity Foundation, World Vision Armenia and Counterpart International Armenia.
