Minister of Foreign Affairs met the next Chairman-in-Office of the OSCE and the Secretary General of the OSCE

On December 6 Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian who is in Kyiv to participate in the 20th OSCE Ministerial Council had a meeting with the Head of Swiss diplomatic service Didier Burkhalter who will also be the Chairman-in-Office of the OSCE in 2014.Minister Nalbandian congratulated his Swiss counterpart upon the election as a President of Swiss Confederation as well as on assuming the Chairmanship of the OSCE on January 1 of the next year.
Ministers discussed several issues related to Nagorno-Karabakh regulation process and in this context touched upon the support of the next OSCE Chairmanship to the functioning of the OSCE Minsk Group.
Minister Nalbandian expressed the support of Armenia to the realization of the agenda proposed by the Swiss Chairmanship in the OSCE.
Edward Nalbandian also met Lamberto Zannier, the Secretary General of the OSCE.
During the meeting the sides had a detailed discussion concerning the recent developments of Nagorno-Karabakh negotiation process. In this context they highly appreciated the consistent efforts of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs towards the peaceful resolution of the issue and emphasized the importance of the steps which could reduce tension in the region.Edward Nalbandian also touched upon the functioning of the OSCE Office in Yerevan and the programs run by it.
