YEREVAN, MAY 6, NOYAN TAPAN - ARMENIANS TODAY. During the
May 5 meeting with reporters, Director General of Orange Armenia
company Bruno Dutois spoke about the company's achievements over
6 months of its activities, noting that Orange has carried out a
real revolution in the Internet market. He said that Orange
Armenia was the first to present the famous iPhone as well as
HTC smartphones in the Armenian market.
B. Dutois said that many people now use high speed
Internet: according to estimates of the company, the number of
Internet users has doubled. "In parallel with that, there was a
growth in traffic exchange which we did not forecast, but thanks
to work done in the last week we managed to reach a quality that
satisfies people and we keep our promises," B. Dutois said,
adding: "six months later, we can say that the greatest
achievement of Orange is the big Orange family: the trust of our
subscribers is of the utmost importance to us".
In his words, when Orange entered the Armenian market, the
market was already quite developed and glutted - by about 80%.
The market was developed in terms of voice services, but the
same cannot be said about Internet services. He considered
Armenia's communication market competitive, noting that the
three operators "spare no effort to deliver high-quality
services and establish various tariffs". "As a result, prices in
Armenia are more convenient than in neighboring countries," B.
Dutois said, adding that people always have expectations not
only regarding technology, but also tariff plans as well as
systems.
He considered the availability of 3G+ coverage in Armenia
and the accessibility of Orange Armenia's services both in
cities and villages as one of the important achievements of
their company. B. Dutois stated that in the coming months the
company will be taking steps in 3 major directions. First of
all, they will continue expanding 2G and 3G+ technology-based
coverage, making their services accessible to 93% of the
population by late August.
