NKR Foreign Minister Met with the Special Representative of the European Union

On November 4, Foreign Minister of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic Karen Mirzoyan, who is on a working visit to Yerevan, met with the EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus and the crisis in Georgia, Herbert Salber.
Karen Mirzoyan noted the importance of such meetings for continuation of contacts between Artsakh and the European Union.
The NKR Foreign Minister presented the ongoing democratic processes in Artsakh, in particular, touching upon the 2015 elections to the parliament and to local self-government bodies, underlining their importance for the organization of public life and for the formation of the authorities through democratic means.
Karen Mirzoyan expressed confidence that the cooperation between Artsakh and the EU can have a positive impact on further development and strengthening of democratic institutions in the NKR.
The sides also touched upon the current stage of the peaceful settlement process of the conflict between Karabakh and Azerbaijan. In this regard, they both stressed the need to prevent any attempts to destabilize the situation and to exert efforts for ensuring progress in the peace process.
