AXA insurance company starts monetary compensation payment
to heirs to Armenian Genocide victims

YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 1, NOYAN TAPAN. Starting from January 31,
almost a thousand heirs of the Armenian Genocide victims will
receive their compensation payments from AXA insurance company
within two weeks, famous Armenian American lawyer Vartkes
Yeghiayan said - a number of Armenian mass media outlets
reported, citing Days monthly published in Prague. Over 12
thousand claims were rejected by the judge, about which the
claimants will be notified.
In 2007 a group of Armenian lawyers won a lawsuit filed
against AXA, which agreed to pay 17.5 million dollars, 11
million dollars of which will be distributed to heirs, and the
rest will be given to the lawyers and Armenian organizations
based in France.
