YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 1, NOYAN TAPAN. Starting from January 31, almost a thousand heirs of the Armenian Genocide victims will receive their compensation payments from AXA insurance company within two weeks, famous Armenian American lawyer Vartkes Yeghiayan said - a number of Armenian mass media outlets reported, citing Days monthly published in Prague. Over 12 thousand claims were rejected by the judge, about which the claimants will be notified. In 2007 a group of Armenian lawyers won a lawsuit filed against AXA, which agreed to pay 17.5 million dollars, 11 million dollars of which will be distributed to heirs, and the rest will be given to the lawyers and Armenian organizations based in France.
