The leaders of the Yelk Bloc and Members of Parliament Edmon Marukyan, Aram Sargsyan, Nikol Pashinyan and the Head of Yelk Bloc Fraction at Yerevan City Council, Davit Khazhakyan, hosted Mr. Richard Mills, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the US to the Republic of Armenia, Ruben Harutyunyan, political officer, and Lilit Ohanyan, political specialist at the Yerevan office of Bright Armenia Party on June 14, 2017. The leaders of Yelk Bloc presented the forthcoming activities of the Bloc and discussed a number of internal political issues during the meeting.

 

 Mr. Ambassador noted in his speech. “Congratulations on earning the trust of the Armenian people and securing your place in both the National Assembly and the Yerevan Council of Elders.  The responsibility of playing a constructive role in opposition is great and the challenges are daunting, but the democratic process and effective politics demand your engagement and energy on behalf of all Armenians and Yerevan residents.  The United States government and Embassy stand ready to assist however we can.”
