YEREVAN, OCTOBER 8, NOYAN TAPAN. In accordance with the
decision made by the RA government at the October 8 sitting, no
bonuses will be given for cash register receipts in the 4th
quarter of 2009, and bonuses in the amount of 1% of the
purchases made (irrespective of their number and amount) will be
paid starting from January 1, 2010. Bonuses will be given only
with respect to economic entities paying profit tax. Thus,
henceforth cash register receipts will be used for raffles only.
According to Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan, this decision
was taken after the prime minister's supervisory service
conducted checks at the request of the State Revenue Committee
(SRC) and revealed gross violations related to receipts. "Some
representatives of our talented people have invented various
means of bypassing the law and stealing money from the state.
For example, during 10 seconds 7 receipts are printed - each for
1 million drams - with the aim of receiving bonuses from the
state later. There have been many such cases" he said. In some
cases, enterprises liable to fixed payments have printed cash
register receipts and distributed them to their employees
instead of salaries.
The prime minister instructed SRC to conduct checks within
3 months at those enterprises (including importing ones) which
had provided many receipts over a short period of time.
He announced that thanks to these measures SRC has already
collected an additional sum of 5 billion drams, that is to say,
this process has considerably contributed to reduction of the
shadow economy.
