With the support of Business Armenia, the Sharoyan-Saryan company has turned from an importer into an exporter. It supplies sweets and spices to several markets of the world under the brand Halep.
Halep has received its first export order in 2017 when, with the support of Business Armenia, it has been participating in the Eurasian Week expo in Astana. And in 2018, as a result of the business forum held in Geneva in February, an export contract was signed with a French partner organization. The negotiations with the Swiss partners are currently ongoing.
After being registered in the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the Generalized System of Preferences (GSP), regular exports to the United States have begun.
“The company has already been registered for the electronic Registered Exporter (REX) System of EU GSP+ preferential trade scheme that operates since this January. We also supported this and expect that Halep will be able to successfully use the simplified privileged regime of exports of goods up to 6,000 Euros” stated the CEO of Business Armenia, Mr. Armen Avak Avakian.
“Getting an export opportunity and entering international market is very important. Currently we export Armenian made bakhlava, lokum, nougat, eastern sweets and Armenian spices to 5 foreign states. This gives us the opportunity to develop” mentioned the founder and CEO of Sharoyan-Saryan company, Mr. Gevorg Saryan.
“Due to export orders, high quality and well-organized operations Halep store chain is expending and it currently has stores in Yerevan, Vanadzor, Gyumri and is planning to open in Artsakh” stated the Exporters’ Support Manager of Business Armenia, Ms. Anahit Mkrtchyan.
