On April 24 a Holy Liturgy was delivered in the leading St. Sargis Church in Damascus dedicated to the 96th anniversary of the Armenian Mets Yeghern, then a burial service-near the Monument of the Genocide with the participations of the representatives and leaders of the sister churches in Damascus. On April 25 a burial service was delivered in the Armenian cemetery of Damascus where the memorial of the victims of the Armenian Genocide is located. In the memorial the Ambassador of Armenia to Syria Arshak Poladyan and the staff of the Embassy laid a wreath on the monument of the victims of Mets Yeghern. A lot of Syrian Armenians, citizens of Armenia, journalists, public figures took part in the ceremony. On the same day the three mayors, the party and union leaders, the representatives of the colony of the Armenian community in Syria visited the Armenian Embassy in Syria and left notes in the commemoration register.
