Grant Thornton Armenia provides guidance on IFRS 16 – the new leases standard

On November 30, 2018 over 25 representatives from banks, insurance, as well as credit organizations took part in a training course on International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) 16, organized by Grant Thornton Armenia.
IFRS 16 - the new leases standard was issued in January 2016 and comes into effect on 1 January 2019. According to the new standard lessees should recognise nearly all leases on the balance sheet, which will reflect their right to use an asset for a period of time and the associated liability for payments.
The training course was conducted by Angela Gevorgyan, Senior Auditor at Grant Thornton Armenia, a highly qualified expert in audit, accounting and budgeting with profound knowledge of IFRS.
