YEREVAN, APRIL 29, NOYAN TAPAN. The Sociometre sociological
center held a survey on April 18-19 with the participation of
1650 Yerevan residents. As center Director said at the April 29
press conference, the number of participants of the May 31
Yerevan Council of Elders elections will make nearly 42.8%. In
his words, RPA member Gagik Beglarian has the highest rating
among candidates for Mayor's post. 26.5% respondents considered
him to be worthy of that post. He is followed by RPA leader
Levon Ter-Petrosian, 7.6% and BH candidate Haroutiun Kushkian,
5.7%.
According to A. Adibekian's observation, OYP and ARFD are
in the fourth place. In his words, the latest political
developments, in particular, the fact of ARFD's coming out of the
ruling coalition, can have both positive and negative impact on
ARFD's rating. According to the sociologist, Sociometre also
plans to hold two more surveys. However, one thing is clear for A.
Adibekian: "Much will depend on the way the parties will
organize their election campaigns." In his opinion, the party
that will present more social programs will have a higher rating.
