YEREVAN, JUNE 23, NOYAN TAPAN. 17 cases of illegal tree cutting were registered in Yerevan in the first 5 months of 2008, in connection with which reports were written out and sent to the environmental inspection of the RA ministry of environmental protection. The head of the envoronmental protection department of Yerevan municipality Avet Martirosian said at the June 23 press conference that 5.5 million drams (about 18.7 thousand dollars) was transferred to the state budget as compensation for tree cutting.
