ACCORDING TO RA YOUTH NATIONAL REPORT, 76.8% OF YOUTH WILL
LEAVE FOR ABROAD IF POSSIBLE

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 11, NOYAN TAPAN. 76.8% of Armenian youth
will leave for abroad if possible. According to the Armenian
Youth National Report, 16.5% of them wishes to leave the country
due to the lack of jobs, 22.6% for finding a highly-paid job,
and the majority, 32.6% for having a rest, travelling abroad.
According to the data brought in the same report, nearly
242.71 thousand out of 821.6 thousand 16-30-year-old young
people of Armenia is married, 10215 is divorced.
The number of marriages has increased by 54.5% and of
divorces by 49.5% in 2004 as compared with 2000. According to
expert studies, the growth of the number of marriages will be
kept by reaching its peak in 2019-2021, after which it will
decrease.
The young people consider financial, employment, and apartment
problems as a compulsory condition and obstacle in the issue of
getting married. According to the respondents, the number of
children in the family depends on almost the same problems.
78.6% of young people wishes to have 2-4 children and 13.4% 5
and more children. However, 72.7% of them considers possible
having 1-2 children and 12.2% 3 children.
72.9% of the young people considers professing the same
religion and 40.8% belonging to the same nationality as an
important condition in the issue of getting married. The
supporters of making a family based on marriage contracts and
civil marriage make 4.6% and 5%, respectively.
