YEREVAN, OCTOBER 10, NOYAN TAPAN. A four-storeyed building
has been built in Yerevan's Kanaker-Zeytun community on the
initiative of the Mission Armenia NGO. A Social Health Center
will function in that building, the opening of which will take
place on October 12.
As Noyan Tapan correspondent was informed by the
organization's Public Relations Department, the Center is
intended for 34 lone old people and 2 socially insecure
families. It is envisaged that the families living in the
center, which should have children without fail, should
help old people in solution of some everyday problems,
making purchases, calling a doctor when necessary, and other
things.
A charity canteen, a first-aid post, a social room,
a laundry, a hairdressing saloon, a bath-house, a dentist's
room, a cafe, an entertainment room, a computer room, and
a gymnasium will function on the building's first two floors.
It should be mentioned that the program has been
implemented with the financing of the Agency for Development and
Cooperation under the Swiss government, Embassy of Germany in
Armenia, Armenian Office of UN High Commissioner for Refugees,
and Norwegian Council for Refugees.
