YEREVAN, AUGUST 22, NOYAN TAPAN. In 2006, the RA National Statistical Service (NSS) put in use the statistical report form of information technology (IT) enterprises, Head of the NSS Stepan Mnatsakanian stated at the August 22 press conference. In response to a question of NT correspondent, the RA NSS head noted that the work on formation of a system of collection and publication of the IT sector's statistical data has not been completed yet, as they have set themselves the task of implementing this work more efficiently. In his words, based on an agreement reached with the World Bank and the RA Ministry of Trade and Economic Development, the RA National Statistical Service will invite experts from developed countries for this purpose. In the words of S. Mnatsakanian, the output created in the IT sector is registered in GDP. According to the RA NSS data, particularly, in January-June 2006, the Armenian IT enterprises provided services of 6 bln 132.2 mln drams (over 13.8 mln USD), which exceeds the respective index of 2005 by 32%, while Armenian GDP in the indicated period of 2006 made 809 bln 549.3 mln drams, exceeding GDP of the same period of 2005 by 11.9%.
