YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 24, NOYAN TAPAN. Legislative changes should be made in order to make the activity of NGOs efficient in Armenia. RA President's Referent Vahe Hovhannisian declared this at the February 24 discussion on the subject "Social Cooperation Prospects in Armenia". According to him, the social cooperation mechanism should be specified, which supposes coordinated cooperation among 3 sectors operating in the public sphere - states bodies, commercial and non-commercial organizations. The state should also create the necessary legal field for social problems solution and rendering services. "Professionals for the Sake of Civil Society" NGO expert Karen Sargsian said that nearly 4000 NGOs function at present in Armenia and donor organizations financing them are few, which causes the problem of NGOs' financial stability. He said that NGOs can be engaged in entrepreneurship for solving their financial problems.
