ATHENS, August 20 (Noyan Tapan). Armenian sportsmen have won no medal in the 28th summer Olympic Games held in Athens up to day. On August 19, weightlifter Gevorg Alexanian (77-kilogram weight class) showed 162.5-kilogram standing in tearing off exercise and placed fifth. But he unsuccessfully performed in the next clean and jerk exercise. Gevorg Alexanian couldn't lift 190 kilograms in three attempts, received "0" and dropped out of the further struggle. Taner Sagir (Turkey) placed first and became the Olympic champion in the 77-kilogram weight group. He showed 375-kilogram standing (172.5+202.5). Tigran Martirosian, Armenian third weightlifter (85-kilogram weight class), will step onto stage on August 21. Super-heavy Ashot Danielian will perform on August 25.
