The long road of formation always seems easier when it is accompanied by faithful, supporting partners. Since 2010 such kind of friend for the State Youth Orchestra of Armenia (SYOA) headed by the artistic director and principal conductor Sergey Smbatyan, has been the General Partner of the orchestra, Armenia’s Leading Telecommunications Operator VivaCell-MTS. 

At a joint press conference presided by VivaCell-MTS General Manager Ralph Yirikian, and the Artistic Director and Principal Conductor of the SYOA Sergey Smbatyan, the orchestra’s achievements, implemented projects, as well as plans for the current were introduced year. 

«In the face of the State Youth Orchestra of Armenia today our country has an established ensemble with a constant wide audience. These musicians have participated in various festivals and have accumulated significant experience; they have created a large repertoire which incorporates works from different periods and styles. VivaCell-MTS is going to continue supporting the orchestra in the process of succession of generations and transmission of rich musical traditions,» VivaCell-MTS General Manager Ralph Yirikian said.

«We are extremely happy to see that our work is appreciated: young musicians constantly feel the so much-needed support. We are going to continue working hard with the same enthusiasm; honorably presenting the traditions of the Armenian performing school abroad ... », mentioned the artistic director and principal conductor of the State Youth Orchestra of Armenia Mr. Sergey Smbatyan.

 

The conference began with a surprise flash mob: the Orchestra performed the VivaCell-MTS jingle.

Thanks to the support of VivaCell-MTS, the orchestra has been given the opportunity of cooperation with world-renowned masters of modern music world and presentation of the achievements of the Armenian performing arts’ school both in Armenia and far beyond its borders. Due to this collaboration numerous innovative projects have been born. Particularly, a series of concerts entitled Hollywood Non-Stop was implemented. Within the framework of this project the audience was presented sound tracks of well-known Hollywood movies. 

March 17 through 24, VivaCell-MTS sponsored another foreign tour of the orchestra. Thanks to the partner, the State Youth Orchestra of Armenia performed in Lebanon as the official orchestra of the Al Bustan International Festival. It is noteworthy that for the first time in the 20-year history of the festival its official representative was an Armenian orchestra. During the festival together with world-renowned musicians Mario Stefano Pietrodarchi, Gianluca Marciano, Antonio Meneses and many others the Youth orchestra presented a concert program including a selection of the best classical pieces. All the concerts had unprecedented success both among the audience and the music critics. The events were widely covered by the media and received many positive reviews.

 

Undoubtedly, with the support of its General Partner - VivaCell-MTS, the State Youth Orchestra of Armenia will continue presenting lots of interesting projects to its devoted audience.
