In the framework of the 3rd Khachaturian International Festival a chamber music evening was held on October 7, at Aram Khachaturian House- Museum. The holder of RA President Award, Honored Artist, pianist Arus Adjemian performed with a concert dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the musicologist Anna Barsamian.

 

Arus Adjemian highly appreciates Khachaturian International Festival, as the great composer's name is a certain visiting card for Armenians, especially abroad, and his name should be more recognizable to even wider circles. According to the musician, the realization of Khachaturian Festival is of great importance on this purpose. Speaking about the concert, pianist says that she has chosen a repertoire which is close to her heart: Frederic Chopin (Ballade No. 4), Martin Vardazaryan (Piano Sonata), Claude Debussy (Prelude “Fireworks”) and Sergei Rachmaninoff (Piano Sonata No. 2).

Arus Adjemian highlights that she has been collaborating with the State Youth Orchestra of Armenia for several years and that the activity of this Orchestra in general is highly appreciated in our today’s cultural life. 

The Festival, which is held under the slogan "Love of my life - Homeland" (a statement by Khachaturian), within two months will present an interesting and rich program in a particular format: chamber concerts on Wednesdays and symphony concerts on Saturdays. The concert will feature international and Armenian premiers, Yerevan will accept famous musicians.

 In fact, the Festival got warm greetings from DJ Switch from United Kingdom, who together with Youth Orchestra has opened the 2nd Khachaturian International Festival in 2014: "I am very happy that I had the chance to perform with the State Youth Orchestra of Armenia and with Sergey Smbatyan in September of 2014. This event is one of my favorites. Receiving such a warm welcome from organizers, musicians and the audience, I am looking forward to my next visit" mentioned DJ Switch in his speech. 

The festival is held under the patronage of RA President Serzh Sargsyan.

This musical celebration is realized by the State Youth Orchestra of Armenia (general partner VivaCell-MTS), with the assistance of the Ministry of Culture and "Classical music support" NGO. The festival is sponsored by "Pyunik" Charitable Foundation, “Luding" Company, "Jermuk Group" and "Ani Plaza".
