The 3rd Khachaturian International Festival represents numerous premieres to Armenian music lovers. On October 31 there were 3: Giacomo Puccini - Preludio Sinfonico, Nino Rota - Bassoon Concerto (soloist Nikolay Poghosyan), Ferdinand David - Concertino for Trombone and Orchestra (soloist Vahram Davtyan). During the evening the State Youth Orchestra of Armenia performed Symphony No. 5 by Tchaikovsky. Soloists of the concert are the musicians of the State Youth Orchestra of Armenia. The concert was conducted by Miran Vaupotic (Croatia).

Talking about cooperation with the Youth Orchestra, Vaupotic said that when he arrived in Armenia, he did not expect to meet such a good orchestra: "This is one of those orchestras where people are playing really thrilling and passionate, which is not typical for all orchestras. It seems that they truly love what they are busy with. They act as if they feel each other. Everything they do is dedicated to music”. Maestro Miran Vaupotic led many famous orchestras in Europe, US, Latin America, Asia and Middle East. He won numerous awards including IARTAS GOLDEN Fortune of 2015 Global Music Award. Under the presidency of Ricardo Mutii and auspices of UNESCO Vaupotic is one of the international ambassadors of EMMA for Peace (Euro-Mediterranean Music Academy).
Nikolay Poghosyan mentioned that Nino Rota (whose work he had performed during the evening) is known as an author of movie soundtracks. However, he has also created in the academic genre; there are symphonies, concertos written for various instruments. Nikolay Poghosyan noted that the Bassoon Concerto is not frequently performed in the world. The musician emphasizes that presentation of new creations is very interesting, because this is the way to say something new, apart from that, the musician's missions is to familiarize the audience with the rarely performed works and develop musical taste. Note that Nikolay Poghosian is the winner of Emin Khachatryan National Competitions of Chamber Ensembles.  In 2011 he participated in South Caucasus program of Young.Euro.Classic, including Armenia, Georgia, Azerbaijan and Germany, and performed Beethoven's Septet and Mozart's Piano Quintet at the stage of Berlin Konzerthaus. In 2006 he firstly presented Hayrapetyan’s Sonata for Bassoon and Piano.
Vahram Davtyan is the trombonist concertmaster of the State Youth Orchestra of Armenia. As a soloist and as a member of the Orchestra Davtyan performs with concerts in the United States, Europe and Asia.
It hould be mentioned that the 3rd Khachaturian International Festival is held under the patronage of RA President Serzh Sargsyan. This musical celebration is realized by the State Youth Orchestra of Armenia (general partner VivaCell-MTS), with the assistance of the Ministry of Culture. The festival is sponsored by "Pyunik" Charitable Foundation, “Luding" Company, "Jermuk Group" and "Ani Plaza".
