The European Youth Olympic Festival started on July 18 in the city of Tampere, Finland. 20 sportsmen from Armenia represent the following kinds of sports: judo, athletics, cycling, tennis, swimming, and gymnastics. On July 21, judoist Gor Haroutiunian (50 kg, Vanadzor) gained 4 victories, was defeated in one fight, took the second place and gained a silver medal. Another judoist from Armenia, Roza Khachatrian (48 kg, Yerevan), was defeated in two fights and did not qualify.
