On 29 September Artsakh Republic President Bako Sahakyan visited the Kashatagh region and held a working consultation with the regional administration staff, heads of communities and school directors. Issues related to agriculture, particularly that of harvest activities, and educational sphere were discussed during the meeting. President noted that the Kashatagh region with its great potential could become engine of the republic’s economic growth. Within the context of the region’s socio-economic development Bako Sahakyan also considered important the role of education underlining that the state would pay special attention to the development of this sphere in the region. After the meeting the President partook at the festive ceremony of handing in modern transportation means to the Kashatagh and Shahoumyan regions provided by the philanthropist Maxim Hakobyan. Primate of the Artsakh Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church Archbishop Pargev Martirosyan, speaker of the National Assembly Ashot Ghoulyan, premier Ara Haroutyunyan and other officials accompanied the President during the visit.
