Pharmaceutical Summer school for the studentsof HEIs

In order to improve the quality of education in the pharmaceutical sphere and to resolve the inconsistency between the knowledge taught in educational institutions and employer’s needsthe Medicine Producers and Importers Union of Armenia with support of USAID Enterprise Development and Market Competitiveness (EDMC) project held the “PharmaceuticalSummer school” event in State Engineering University of Armenia (SEUA) from 1-20th of July.
The event was attended by 35 students from the Medicine Producers and Importers Union of Armenia partner institutions (Yerevan State Medical University after M. Heratsi, Yerevan State University,Yerevan Medical Institute after Mehrabyan, Yerevan State Armenian-American Medical College Erebouni, National Academy of Sciences, European Regional Educational Academy and SEUA).
The leading specialists of the field who conducted the courses conveyed knowledge to students from different angles of the Pharmaceutics, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Good Distribution Practice (GDP), intellectual property protection features of the pharmaceutical industry, as well as presented necessary skills requiredfor theseparate specific areas of expertise.
On July 12ththe participants visited “FDA Lab” expertise laboratory, and on July 20th “Liqvor” pharmaceutical company, in order to get acquainted with their work and services provided on-site.
Upon completion of the Pharmaceutical summer school graduates were awarded certificates of participation.
The "Pharmaceutical Summer School" event was held within the memoranda of cooperation signed between MPI Union and the above mentioned universities, which is the second phase of the EDMC supported project.The first stage,the "Career Day" event, was held earlier this year, in April and May, and the project will be completed in September with the "Career Fair" event.
