On 18 October Artsakh Republic President Bako Sahakyan received some members of the Public Council under the Armenian defense ministry headed by its chairman Gegham Haroutyunyan and a group of representatives of Armenia’s scientific and culture circles.
Issues related to the society-army relations, Artsakh’s socioeconomic development, regional trends, the Azerbaijani-Karabakh conflict settlement process were discussed during the meeting.
According to the Head of the State, the fighting efficiency of the army to a great extent depends on the ties between the armed forces and the society. Within this context President Sahakyan underlined the importance of periodic visits of prominent public figures, scientists and culture workers to military units, as well as preparation and presentation to national and international audience high quality materials related to history, politics, economy, culture and other spheres of Armenia and Artsakh life.
Artsakh Republic defense minister Movses Hakobyan and other officials were present at the meeting.
