The project, which was launched in Aprl, will be completed in May.

The athletic outfits will be distributed to the 4,927 students between the ages of six and 16 enrolled in the above-mentioned regions’ 28 sports schools. Beneficiaries of the Devejians’ generosity also include the 73 students of the school of Bavra, in Armenia’s Shirak Region, who study in a school that was furnished and provided with a computer classroom with the support of the family. Moreover, the youngsters’ lives have been enriched by the availability of a library, a health clinic, and an events halls at their community center, whose construction was likewise sponsored by the Devejians.

Two other projects in the homeland made possible by the Devejian family are the newly built community center of Karin Tak, a village in Artsakh’s Shushi Region, with the co-sponsorship of the government of Artsakh, as well as the community’s renovated school gym.

“Five thousand seems to be a symbolic number for the Devejian family,” said Ara Vardanyan, executive director of the Hayastan All-Armenian Fund. “About a year ago, the family donated 5,000 sports balls to schools throughout Armenia. We certainly hope that the Devejians go on to support as many projects in the homeland,” Vardanyan added jokingly.
