Number of crimes and their detection index increase in
Armenia in first ten months of 2009

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 20, NOYAN TAPAN. 11,645 crimes were
recorded in Armenia in the first ten months of 2009 - as
compared to 7,521 crimes in the same period of 2008, while the
crime detection made 74.5% compared to 61.7% last year. Head of
the Criminal Investigation Department of the RA Police, Colonel
Hovhannes Tamanian announced these figures at the November 20
press conference.
In his words, 7,222 criminal offences were recorded in the
indicated period as compared with 5,481 in 2008. The detection
of such crimes rose considerably from 68.9% in 2008 to 76.5%
this year.
