The Secretary of the NSC Arthur Baghdasaryan received the delegation headed by the special representative of NATO in Caucasus and Central Asia James Appathurai. The sides noted that Armenia-NATO cooperation developed effectively and touched upon the Armenian troops in Afghanistan. Arthur Baghdasaryan informed that by his presidency and the involvement of the representatives of interested departments the inter-departmental committee for Armenia-NATO cooperation operated in the frames of RA-NATO IPAP. The sides expressed content with the level of the relations, underlying the necessity of deepening the cooperation in a number of directions. Especially Arthur Baghdasaryan mentioned the field of emergency. Arthur Baghdasaryan informed that the program of reforms had been worked out and implemented effectively in the field of police in cooperation with EU and OSCE, but there were also possibilities of cooperation with NATO. He noted that the national program of struggle against cyber terrorism had been worked out. The high-ranking guest expressed content with the current process of Armenia-NATO cooperation. He noted that the approaches related to cyber security of NATO and the issues of further cooperation with the partners were of important significance. As the press office of the NSC reports, during the discussion of regional issues Arthur Baghdasaryan considered the position of Azerbaijan unacceptable and not structural, presented Armenia’s approach towards Nagorno Karabakh conflict, noting that Armenia considered unacceptable the military way and wanted the problem to be solved through negotiations and acceptable concessions.
