YEREVAN, December 24 (Noyan Tapan). About $42m and $31m are necessary for repair and construction of about 900 cultural centers in Armenia in 2004-2008. Sos Kocharian, RA Deputy Minister of Urban Construction, informed a Noyan Tapan correspondent that houses of culture will be built in the communities, which are deprived of such centers are present. It's envisaged to finance the construction by state resources and with the help of international donor organizations. It was mentioned that the cultural houses of Oshakan, Sisavan, Gndevaz were reconstructed and a new house of culture was built in the village of Tsapatagh of Gegharkunik marz with about 95m drams ($172.7 thousand) allocated from the 2004 state budget. According to the Deputy Minister, the 2005 draft budget envisages to allocate about 240m drams for the construction and repair of houses of culture. S.Kocharian also said that 60 houses of culture have been repaired in the republic with financing of different sources recently.
