YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 13, NOYAN TAPAN. The RA Prosecutor
General's Office has not received any applications from those
questioned in the city of Vanadzor in connection with the murder
of the prosecutor of Lori marz (region) - applications about
giving evidence under duress. However, based on press
publications, the prosecutor general Aghvan Hovsepian ordered to
conduct an internal investigation. He stated this at the RA
National Assembly on September 13 when responding to reporters'
questions.
"I think the investigative group will reveal what actually
happened there but I want you to take into consideration that
there are people and there are groups that will not benefit from
the detection of this crime," the prosecutor general said. In
his words, the persons who expressed their discontent are trying
to create an impression that the investigative group is
conducting large-scale questioning in Vanadzor by taking people
right from the streets in order to question them. He assured
those present that it is not true, and people have been
questioned in case of necessity, in order to check all the
versions.
It is noteworthy that during the National Assembly sitting
on the same day, the independent MP Victor Dallakian handed the
prosecutor general some video material and certificates from
doctors - at the request of the questioned persons' relatives
who came to Yerevan from Vanadzor. Spokeswoman for the
prosecutor general Sona Truzian told NT correspondent that a
meeting of the prosecutor general with them is scheduled for the
evening on the same day.
