Jan 11 (AFP - NT) - Influenza has killed 27 people in
Hungary since the beginning of this year, health officials said
here Wednesday.
The epidemic broke out late last year and caused
complications to about seven percent of a total of some 60,000
patients nationwide, which is double the usual ratio of
complications normally occurring with the customary winter flu,
physician Ilona Staub of the central public health institute
said.
The 27 victims included months-old babies as well as
middle-aged and elderly people, all of whom suffered further
serious or chronic diseases.
