YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 22, NOYAN TAPAN. The Delegation of the
European Commission to Armenia and Embassies of France, Germany,
United Kingdom, Italy, Poland, Romania, Netherlands, the British
Council in Armenia and the OSCE Office organize the European
Film Festival 2007 in Yerevan, Gyumri and Kapan for already the
fourth time. The festival will be held in Yerevan between
November 21 and 27, in Gyumri between November 22 and 25 and in
Kapan on November 23-30. In Yerevan the price for the tickets
will make 500 drams. As regards Gyumri and Kapan, there is no
fee for entrance, and the proceeds from the sale of the tickets
in Yerevan will go to charity. The films will be screened in the
language of their original one with Armenian translation below.
As Raul de Lucenberg, the Acting Head of the Delegation of
the European Commission to Armenia, stated at the November 21
press conference, the Commission conducts organizational work of
the festival. The festival will be held in Kapan under the
patronage of the OSCE Office in Yerevan.
In the words of Serge Smessov, the Ambassador
Plenipotentiary and Extraordinary of France to Armenia, this
festival more and more expanded year after year, including such
countries, which do not have representations in Armenia. The
French diplomat mentioned that Holland is among that kind of
countries, which will this time be represented by one film. This
festival, according to the Ambassador, aims at bringing the best
recent European films to Armenia every year. Serge Smessov also
declared that their Embassy is cooperating with the "Golden
Apricot" Yerevan International Film Festival.
In the evening of the same day the Yerevan film festival of
the European films was launched with the screening of the
"Quarreled Sisters" film by Alexandra Leclere, a French film
producer, at Nairi Cinema.
