YEREVAN, JANUARY 19, NOYAN TAPAN. The philosophical book "Dao De Tszin" or "Way Power Book" by Chinese philosopher Lao Tzu who lived in the 5-4th centuries B.C., was for the first time published in Armenian in film director Tigran Khzmalian's translation. As Tigran Khzmalian mentioned during the January 18 presentation of the Armenian translation of the book, Dao De Tszin is the most translated and published book in the world after the Bible and Koran. In the translator's words, this small book consisting of 5 thousand words has been one of the basis of the Chinese and, in general, of the eastern philosophy continuously for milleniums, serving as an all-embracing encyclopedia and guidebook of the state government and diplomacy, martial art and strategy, family life and lifestyle, poetry and morality. In T.Khzmalian's words, one of the most important missions of the Armenian people in the world is creation of translation literature. However, in Khzmalian's words, it is strange that there were no attempts of translation of this book in the past. T.Khzmalian mentioned that Dao De Tszin is published in English with a new translation almost every year. The number of Russian translations overpasses one dozen a year. "I have translated the book from the Russian language, taking as the basis the 1950 Russian translation of the book by Chinese specialist Yan Hin Shun," he stated. T.Khzmalian is sure that Dao De Tszin is not at all a religious canon, but is a philosophical and moral study. And this book's solemn modernity is explained by the fact that it continues answering the most serious and most essential questions, starting from a person's individual responsibility up to modern geopolicy. "500 years before the Christ Lao Tsu said that people must love each other. Reading both Bible and Koran, I made myself sure that one thing is written in them: to response hatred with love. Maybe, people gave the God different names in different languages," T.Khzmalian said.
