YEREVAN, OCTOBER 12, NOYAN TAPAN. "The greatest obstacle to
our activities in Armenia is high tariffs and low quality of
telecommunication services - Internet and phone connection,"
Aram Kablanian, Chairman and Chief Executive Director of the
company Virage Logic (US), stated at the October 12 press
conference on the 10th anniversray of the company's operation.
According to him, the above mentioned obstacles reduce the
cooperation opportunities with customers of the company's
Yerevan branch.
Virage Logic is a world leader in the development of
semiconductor memory, logic, entry and exit devices. It has 300
institutional customers, among them such companies as Sony,
Phillips, IBM, ABI, and Toshiba. Its Armenian branch opened in
1999. In the words of A. Kablanian, last year the branch
ensured a stable growth in the number of its employees - from
five to 110. The total number of employees at all the 6
branches and offices of Virage Logic makes 425.
The company's co-founder and vice-chairman Alex Shubat
pointed out such achievements of the Yerevan branch as the
development of the main components of the memory and reproducing
device for MP3 music files by Armenian specialists.
