FRANCE ADOPTS LAW ON ESTABLISHING PUNISHMENT FOR DENYING
ARMENIAN GENOCIDE

PARIS, OCTOBER 12, NOYAN TAPAN. On October 12, the French
National Assembly adopted a law on establishing punishment for
denying the Armenian Genocide. The law was adopted with 106 in
favor and 19 opposed votes. This was reported by Turkish media.
According to the law, those denying the fact of the
Armenian Genocide will be punished to imprisonment of one year
and will be fined 45 thousand euros.
The law should be approved at the Senate, then should be
signed by President Jacques Chirac.
