ZURICH, OCTOBER 8, NOYAN TAPAN. The exhibition "Armenian
landscape paintings in modern art and architecture" opened on
October 4 in the "EWZ" exhibition chamber in Zurich. It has been
organized by the efforts of the Embassy of Armenia in
Switzerland with a close cooperation with the municipality of
Zurich.
The exhibition, which is being held under the title
"Landscape painting of symbols, landscape painting of
constructed environment, landscape painting of dreams", is
dedicated to the Armenian modern art and architecture. It
introduces to the spectator how the locality, settlement and
environment in comparison influence and leave their impress on
architecture, literature, art, and music.
According to the infomation provided to Noyan Tapan by the
Press and Information Department of the RA Ministry of Foreign
Affairs, this exhibition is a regular one among events organized
by the RA Embassy in Switzerland, which aim at presenting the
rich cultural heritage of Armenia as a peculiar existence formed
at the crossroad of the East and the West. The most significant
among them is the exhibition "The miniature painting of Armenia:
the collection of Matenadaran (Armenian repository of ancient
manuscripts)" opened in Zhnev in September.
