CATHOLICOS KAREKIN II LEAVES FOR USA ON PASTOR VISIT

ETCHMIADZIN, OCTOBER 2, NOYAN TAPAN. His Holiness Patriarch
Karekin II, the Catholicos of All Armenians, is paying a pastor
visit to the Armenian Western diocese of the United States of
America between September 30 and October 3. His Holiness will
conduct a number of events dedicated to the 80th anniversary of
the diocese, as well as will consecrate the Mother altar
of the Saint Gregory the Illuminator church of Pasadena in the
Eastern diocese. The solemn opening ceremony of the cultural
center of the Armenian community of Hollywood will also take
place.
The Catholicos of All Armenians will be in the Armenian
Eastern diocese of the United States on a pastor visit between
October 3 and November 2. During this visit His Holiness will
visit different Armenian communities and parishes, as well as
will have official and interchurch meetings.
According to the information provided to Noyan Tapan by the
Information Services of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, this
is the second pastor visit of His Holiness to the U.S. Eastern
diocese: the first visit was paid in 2001.
During the visit the Catholicos of All Armenians will be
accompanied by Archbishop Arshak Khachatrian, the Head of the
Information Services of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, as
well as by clergyman Ktritch Devejian, the responsible for
information in foreign languages in the Information Services,
and monk Hovnan Hakobian from the Mother See of Holy
Etchmiadzin.
