YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 28, NOYAN TAPAN. The elections of 19 judges of the European Court of Human Rights, including Armenia's representtaive, in connection with the end of their terms of office, are scheduled for October 2 at the plenary sitting of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE). The European Court of Human Rights is composed of judges representing the current 46 Council of Europe member states. Each country puts up three candidates for the post of judge, and PACE elects the judge of the given country by a majority vote through secret voting. Armenia has proposed the candidacies of the current EC judge Alvina Gyulumian, the RA deputy minister of justice Gevorg Kostanian, and the head of the international legal relations unit of the RA prosecutor general's office Nelli Harutyunian.
