YURI PATRIKEV WINS BRONZE MEDAL IN WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP OF
WRESTLING AND GAINS RIGHT TO TAKE PART IN OLYMPIC GAMES

BAKU, SEPTEMBER 20, NOYAN TAPAN. On September 19, the
super-heavyweight wrestlers performed in the World Championship
of Greco-Roman Wrestling which is held in Baku. Yuri Patrikev
representing Armenia gained 4 victories and only once was
defeated. Thus, he took the third place winning the bronze medal
and gaining the right to take part in Olympic Games.
On September 19, the prize winners of 55 and 60 kg weight
categories were determined in the championship. Members of the
national team of Armenia Vahan Simonian and Armen Karapetian
performed unsuccessfully and did not receive medals and the
right to take part in Olympic Games.
