YEREVAN, APRIL 23, NOYAN TAPAN. The pre-school and middle
professional spheres are in poor state in the education system
of Armenia: the material-technical basis, particularly
buildings, are decomposed here, among other problems. RA
Minister of Education and Science Levon Mkrtchian informed
journalists about it on April 20. In the Minister's words,
problems of the sphere are mainly being solved within the
framework of the two credit programs on education of the World
Bank: first of all, school buildings were kept, the issue of
printing and keeping the text-books was solved.
In the Minister's words, the only defect of the mentioned
sphere is today solution of the problems arisen before the high
school. The Minister mentioned that passing to the 12-year
education system supposes that all children must study at the
main school, involving the 9th grade. In future some of them may
continue the education process at middle professional
institutions, and others will study at the 10th, 11th, 12th
grades of line classes with programs of clear orientation.
A 17 mln evros credit was got by the education programs of
the European Union for middle professional and pre-school
spheres. Problems of those spheres of education must be solved
by it.
