DISC IS RELEASED ABOUT MASSACRE OF VILLAGE OF MARAGHA

STEPANAKERT, APRIL 16, NOYAN TAPAN. The presentation of the
"Maragha" disc recently took place at the Artsakh State
University. It contains archive documents, photos, video
materials, publications and evidences of eye-witnesses of the
massacre of the peaceful population of the Maragha village, the
NKR region of Martakert, by the Azerbaijani armed units. As
Noyan Tapan was informed by the NKR Foreign Ministry, the disc
was released on the initiative of Narine Aghabalian, the head of
the "Tsir Katin" studio, journalist, and is dedicated to the
15th anniversary of the tragic events in Maragha. The NKR
Foreign Ministry, "Against Legal Wilfulnesses Fund" and other
organizations gave the archive materials in the Armenian,
Russian and English languages. Representatives of the NKR
authorities, society and journalists participated in the
presentation.
All the ones made speech emphasized the idea that with the
level of depth, regour of the human tragedy, number of people
subjected to violence and taken hostage, the tragic events of
the village of Maragha have a special place in the chronology of
the Karabakh national-liberating struggle and it is necessary to
inform the world community about them. It was affirmed by
comparison of different lists that 81 peaceful inhabitants were
killed in Maragha, 67 people were taken hostage. The fate of
many of them has remained unknown by now.
