EXHIBITION OF ARSHILE GORKY'S WORKS OPENED IN PARIS

PARIS, APRIL 5, NOYAN TAPAN. An exhibition of American
Armenian great painter Arshile Gorky's (Vostanik Adoyan,
1904-1948) works opened on April 2 at the Pompidou Center of the
Paris National Museum of Modern Art and at the Calouste
Gulbenkian cultural center within the framework of the Year of
Armenia in France. More than 40 canvases and drawings of the
painter which were brought from the U.S., Portugal, England as
well as from the Pompidou Center and separate individuals'
collections are presented.
Chairman of the George Pompidou Art and Culture National
Center Bruno Racine, Emilio Rui Vilar (Lisbon), the
Administrative Council Chairman of the Calouste Gulbenkian
institution and Ambassador of Armenia Eduard Nalbandian
participated in opening of the exhibitions. According to the
information submitted to Noyan Tapan by the RA Foreign
Ministry's Press and Information Department, A. Gorky's wife,
daugther and grandchildran also participated in the ceremony.
