ETCHMIADZIN, NOVEMBER 21, NOYAN TAPAN. The episcopal ordaining took place on November 19 at the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin. Supreme Archimandrite Ararat Galtagchian, manager of the monasteries belonging to the Mother See, Archimandrite Anushavan Zhamkochian, the Dean of the YSU Theology Faculty, prior of the Yerevan Saint Gregory the Illuminator Cathedral and Arcgimandrite Markos Hovhannisian, the eparchic primate of the Gegharkunik diocese were ordained and consecrated by His Holiness Karekin II Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians during the Surb Liturgy. At the end of the ordaining the Catholicos of All Armenians addressed his command to the newly consecrated Bishops. His Holiness wished that the newly consecrated Bishops continue their service to the Armenian Apostolic Church and the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin with more devotion and wisdom. A reception took place at the end of the Surb Liturgy. During the reception the Armenian Patriarch presented the newly consecrated Bishops symbols of episcopal power. According to the information submitted to Noyan Tapan by the Information Services of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, during the coming days Bishops Ararat, Anushavan and Markos will celebrate holy liturgies at the Mother See.
